Not even the hiring of Tennis legend Andres Agassi can save the continuous slump of former world number one, Novak Djokovic who has been sent packing from the 2017 French Open Tennis tournament.

Dominic Thiem masterminded Djokovic’s exit as he beat the Serb black and blue in straight sets in Wednesday’s quarter-finals.

The sixth seed is fast becoming one of the best players on the ATP Tour, but he was superb in surging to a 7-6 6-3 6-0 victory over the former world number one.

There will be questions over the performance of Djokovic, who became increasingly wayward as the match progressed, but Thiem deserves the plaudits for reaching the last four at Roland Garros for the second consecutive year.

Thiem will now have to prove how good he has become as he would playing Rafael Nadal for a place in the final after the left-hander benefited from Pablo Carreno Busta withdrawing from their match at 6-2 2-0.
