PDP’s candidate in the Osun governorship election, Senator Ademola Adeleke will not be answering the call of the police until after the September 22, 2018 poll.

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris to stop the invitation of the Osun governorship candidate immediately.

Adeleke had been summoned to the force headquarters to answer to allegations of Examination Malpractice, Criminal Conspiracy, Personation, Breach of Duty, Aiding and Abetting against him.

A Presidency source who pleaded for anonymity, confirmed this development to newsmen.

According to the source, Buhari ordered that Adeleke should not be invited until after Saturday’s election.

Police spokesman, Jimoh Moshood, had in a statement on Wednesday, said that Adeleke and Sikiru, his brother, sat for the National Examination Council Examination (NECO) as internal candidates in 2017, “impersonating” students of OJO/Aro Community Grammar School in Osun state.

The police named the other suspects as Mufutau (Principal of Ojo-Aro Community High School, Egbedore LGA, Osun State), Gbadamosi Thomas Ojo (School Staff responsible for the registration of candidates for NECO) and  Dare Olutope (School Teacher).

The force asked the senator and the four others allegedly involved to report to the force headquarters in Abuja for “immediate” arraignment in court.
