The Governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi is on a losing streak.

Two weeks ago, he lost his bid to join Nigeria's federal parliament after serving two terms as governor.

On Saturday, he came out to support his preferred candidate and hopeful successor, Adebayo Adelabu of the APC.

Votes have been counted at his polling unit Ward 10 Unit 20 in Ibadan South-West local council area where the governor voted.

The People's Democratic Party's governorship candidate, Seyi Makinde emerged victorious after he scored 149 against Adelabu who got 112.

Ajimobi made his first public appearance since February 23 when he lost his bid to join Nigeria's senate.

In the presidential polls, the people of Oyo voted similarly for Atiku Abubakar of the PDP against President Muhammadu Buhari of the APC.
