BREAKING: APC Chairman In Adamawa Kidnapped Ahead Of Governorship Rally
Hamisu Mijinyawa, Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Demsa Local Government Area, Adamawa State, has been kidnapped.
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Demsa Local government area of Adamawa State has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
According to sources, Hamisu Mijinyawa was kidnapped at about 1:00 am Wednesday in his house as the party prepares to host the flag off of Governor Mohammed Jibrilla of Adamawa state.
According to a party official , Mark Dauda, the kidnappers are demanding N20 million as ransom to secure the release of the party chairman.
"The chairman was picked in his house in Demsa around 1:00am last night, but we're talking, we're negotiating his release."
"Yes, they've demanded N20 million ransom, that's all I can tell you for now", Dauda revealed.
The Police Public Relations officer Adamawa state command Superintendent of Police Othman Abubakar confirmed the kidnap and that the Command is investigating the incidence with the hope apprehending the criminals. He therefore appealed to the public to remain calm as they work towards rescuing the victim.
Meanwhile the governor's campaign team is being expected in Demsa for the party's rally.
