BREAKING: Ambode Pleads For Fair Play In Lagos APC Primaries
Lagos State governor Akinwunmi Ambode knows he is in for a real battle when the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primaries get underway on Monday, October 1.
With the knowledge that the odds are against him, the governor has only one hope – the people.
He believes if the party members are allowed to vote and their votes count, he will defeat his rivalry Babajide Sanwo-Olu who has since been endorsed by national leader Ahmed Tinubu and 36 Lagos House of Assembly members.
Speaking at a world press conference on Sunday afternoon, Ambode pleads that the voting process should credible and the people’s choice should be allowed to stand.
“I plead with the National Working Committee, party leaders and all delegates. We should do the right thing to make this process credible, and I believe with God on our side, we will come out triumphant.”
He added that there is no rift between him and Tinubu or any other party leader.
“There is no rift between me and anybody, but if we say we are in democracy, let us practice democracy till the end.”
