Lagos is a city crawling with fun spots, you just need to take the time to discover them.

However, for many Lagosians, there's barely enough time to rest and catch a breath, let alone take the time to find fun spots. This is why we're bringing the fun to you.

There are several advantages with going out of one's comfort zone sometimes and trying out new experiences. First, it accords you the chance to meet new people, then there's also the thrill that comes with discovering something new. You're not only re-energised, but also ready to tackle new challenges at work or school.

So, if you're looking to visit somewhere fun this weekend, you may want to consider one of the following options.

1. Takwa Bay

One of Lagos' not quite best kept secrets, Takwa Bay is a great spot to visit if you're looking for some sun, surf and adventure.

First off, you should know that Takwa Bay is only accessible by boat, which is one of the charms of the place. So, not only do you get to enjoy a beach outing, you also get to enjoy a boat ride which can be quite fun, if you're not averse to water transporting.

There are a few spots that offer boat rides to Takwa Bay including the jetty opposite Law School which charges N3,000 for a trip to and fro the beach.

On arrival at the beach, there are a host of activities one can participate in including surfing, just like we see in those obodo oyibo movies. One can also swim in the beach as the tide is low. But if getting in the water is not an option for you, then you can always just stroll round the beach, or dance to the music blasting from any one of the numerous speakers in the area.

2. Lekki Conservation Centre

There's nothing like LCC in Lagos, period.

Located just opposite Chevron on the Lekki-Epe expressway, LCC offers a canopy walk that's about 65 feet above the ground and 401 metres long, let's not talk about the monkeys you're bound to meet on the way. Talk about the ultimate adventure.

Asides this, there are areas where you and friends can enjoy a fun picnic, and just take in nature. Certainly a different way to spend the weekend in the concrete jungle that is Lagos.

LCC charges a gate fee of N1,000 for adults and N1,500 on public holidays. Children aged between 1-10 pay N200, while those between 11 and 17 pay N300.

3. Omu Resort

Another first of it's kind in Lagos, Omu Resort located at Ibeju-Lekki is a fun resort that offers a range of activities including kayaking and paint-balling, plus there's also a zoo.

In addition to the many activities one can get up to at Omu, there are also areas where family and friends can enjoy a nice picnic, once again, at one with nature.

4. Terra Kulture

Away from nature and animals, Terra Kulture is one of the hottest cultural centres in Lagos.

Theatre, art and good food are some of the options on offer for visitors to this one-stop shop. Interestingly, Terra Kulture has a play staged practically every weekend, so if theatre is your thing, you should definitely give this place a try this weekend.

Terra Kulture is located on Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island.

Hi-Impact planet is an amusement park located at Ibafo on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

If you're looking to let out your inner child, or looking for a fun place you can take your children to, then you should consider this spot. This is because there are all sorts of fun rides, both indoor and outdoor, at this fun spot.
