Less than two weeks afterBounce News exposed his illicit sex affair with a 16 year-old girl, Pastor Tunde Yemi Daniel has been arrested.

Daniel is currently being detained by the police for allegedly impregnating Ogechi Obileku, a Junior Secondary School Three student, who happens to be the daughter of one of his church members.

Daniel is the Senior pastor of Royal Heritage Arena located at 8, Owolabi Street, Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos, where Obileku and her family had been worshipping.

Daniel, who is in his 50s, and a husband to two wives and eight children, allegedly several rounds of unprotected sex with the minor.

He is also accused of subjecting her to the harrowing experience of an abortion to cover up his shameful deeds.

Unconfirmed reports suggest there was an old flame between Ogechi's mother, Onyinye Obileku and the self-acclaimed Man of God in the past.

Convinced of the pastor’s spiritual prowess Onyinye, who is a resident of 23 Oremeji Street, Oshodi, had taken her teenage daughter to him for spiritual counselling on her decision to venture into modelling.

Pastor Daniel, however, in the course of his mentoring classes got sexually attracted and attached to the minor.

The Pregnancy Episode

Ogechi was reportedly taken for the abortion at High Rocks Hospital - located on 38 Afariogun Street, Charity bus stop in Oshodi area of the state.

The secret romance between the pastor and the teenager was said to have intensified after the abortion, resulting in a frosty relationship between the cleric and the young girl’s mother.

Narrating her experience to Bounce News, Onyinye told our correspondent that her teenage daughter suddenly became rebellious due to the illicit love affair with the older man.

She  said she was initially happy when her daughter started attending the church last year.

The mother said she had noticed a change in her daughter's behaviour in December, but did not think it was linked to church activities.

"I am so hurt and disappointed. I thought my child was going there to improve her life but I was wrong," she said.

The teenager’s mother further alleged, “Earlier, in January, before I got the wind of the illicit relationship between my daughter and Pastor Daniel, Ogechi had a surgery around her abdominal region for what the doctors called ruptured appendicitis.

"But we later discovered that the operation performed on her was actually for abortion and she almost died.”

She added that the family had to cough up over N360,000 for another surgery to save her daughter’s life as the abortion she had earlier, went awry.

To prevent further contact between the girl and Daniel, the girl’s family took her away to the South-East to stay with her grandmother.

Despite the relocation, it was  discovered that the pastor was still in touch with the minor.

Onyinye, who could no longer handle the matter on her own, contacted the Child Protection Network.

Ebenezer Omejalile, who serves as the Coordinator of CPN in Isolo and Ejigbo, said his organization was contacted and they immediately began legal procedures.

The police according to him had initially attempted to cover up for the accused pastor. He said it was after the organization came into the scene and wrote the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgar that the pastor was arrested.

It was gathered that the girl, who was brought back from the East to give a statement, made more startling revelations.

Omejalile, who was present at the time said, “The girl said that anytime they had sex, he always recorded it. This is why we are worried at this point because we do not want such videos finding their way to the public. The girl said that he had a box in his room where he kept videos from different sexual encounters. The police said they would go and search his room soon.”

He explained that when they went to invite the pastor in company with policemen from the command headquarters, the girl was the one used as a bait.

Omejilale said, “We told her to put the phone on speaker and when the girl called him, he said he would like to see her and that he missed her. The girl said she could not come to his house but could meet him at work.

“As soon as the girl got to his office, the pastor’s colleagues started greeting her as ‘Pastor Daniel’s daughter’. It was clear they were familiar with her. He was then informed that he was wanted at the police headquarters.”

The pastor before his arrest had told Bounce News that the allegations against him was borne out of malice and ill will from the minor's mother.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command,  Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the accused's arrest. He said the pastor is still in detention while the police continue with their investigations.

Famous-Cole also expressed concern over rising cases of defilement of minors.

He urged parents to look after their children especially the girl child to avoid such cases.

“We are now at peace because the police have taken over the case so we know justice will be served,” Onyinye told our correspondent after the pastor was arrested..

When Bounce News visited the church on Sunday, the place was under lock and key.

But residents of the area told our correspondent that they could not believe that a man of God would commit such an ungodly act.
