Days after Bounce News exclusively broke the news of the highhandedness of the Chairman of Oshodi/Isolo Local Government, Bolaji Ariyoh over his refusal to release official cars to councillors, the council  boss has finally bowed to pressure.

He has released the cars to the councillors for their use.

Recall that Bounce News had reported that all is not well in the local government as councillors are at loggerheads with Ariyoh.

The Chairman had in March 2018 purchased 18 Toyota Camry cars (2010 model) to be distributed among the elected councillors, supervisory councillors and some of his Special Assistants and Advisers.

He had used the official cars as bait to secure the support and loyalty of the councillors in his failed bid to win the All Progressives Congress’ House  of Representatives ticket for Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1.

He had assured the councillors that after the primaries, they will get their car keys.

The Chairman, however came a distant third in the polls.

Weeks after the conclusion of the primaries, the Chairman bluntly refused to handover the car keys to the councillors.

However, when Bounce News broke the news of the refusal of Ariyoh to release the cars, words got to some of leaders of the party, who intervened and put pressure on the chairman to release the cars.

When our correspondent visited the council secretariat on Oyetayo Street on Wednesday, all the cars hithertho parked in the front of the council secretariat building have been distributed to the councillors.

During the visit, our correspondent saw some of the councillors driving into the secretariat complex in their official cars.

Some were also parked in front of the Legislative building inside the council secretariat.

Two of the ccouncillors who spoke with our correspondent expressed joy with the release after months of waiting and denial.

The councillors who pleaded anonymity thanked Bounce News for coming to their rescue by reporting the issue for leaders of the party to see.
