#BounceExclusive: MC Oluomo To Leave Hospital This Week
A leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo is set to leave the hospital this week following surgery on a hand injury sustained in a knife attack.
Oluomo was attacked and stabbed last week Tuesday during the inauguration of the governorship campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Sky Power Ground, Oba Akinjobi Road, Ikeja, Lagos.
It is understood the knife was put to Oluomo's neck and his left hand and parts of his body were injured as he pulled the weapon away.
Sources with firsthand knowledge told Bounce News on Tuesday that Oluomo has stabilised and that the plan now is to get him out of the hospital this week.
The sources further confirmed that after his release from the hospital, the plan is to fly him out to enable him rest properly before the general elections.
Bounce News further gathered that Oluomo faces a lengthy rehabilitation process but he received positive news from doctors, including Dr. Bashiru Dawodu, who told him he had a chance of resuming activities within the next few days after the operation went without complications.
Dr. Dawodu, a US based medical practitioner, is the candidate of the APC for the House of Rep seat in Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1.
Oluomo was instrumental to his emergence as the APC candidate for the seat.
The impending hospital release comes after it was rumoured that Oluomo was dead.
Oluomo was said to have told all those who visited him in the hospital that he was shaken but fortunate to be alive after the attack and underwent surgery lasting nearly five hours.
One of those who visited him in the hospital was a popular Fuji musician, Taye Currency.
In the video Taye Currency uploaded on Instagram, MC Oluomo was seen smiling as the musician confirmed that he is alive and well.
He wrote: ''The strongest people are people who faced the toughest situations in life. May the Almighty Allah grant you more more years on earth.''
