Supporters of the late Chairman of the Motorcycle Operators Association, Rasaq Bello have threatened to storm the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja to retrieve his body.

Bello’s body was deposited in the hospital’s mortuary since his gruesome murder on Monday.

Bello popularly called  Hamburger was murdered after a fight broke out in Shogunle few minutes after the botched All Progressives Congress  (APC) LG primaries.

It was learnt that the hospital management failed to release the corpse on orders from the Lagos State government.

It was further gathered that the government took the decision to prevent the breakdown of law and order.  The government it was learnt wants the situation to calm down before releasing the dead body to the family.

But supporters, on Thursday, vowed to storm the mortuary to retrieve the body if the hospital fails to release it today for them to bury him according to Muslim rites.

They said as a Muslim, Hamburger was supposed to have been buried on either Monday or Tuesday.

Some of them who spoke with Bounce News on condition of anonymity said they are angry that almost four days after the sad incident, the government  has failed to apprehend the culprits despite the fact that they are known.

Samson Agbetoye popularly called Golden, who is a well-known protégé of Treasurer of the National Union of Road Transport (NURTW) and Oshodi warlord, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo was alleged to have shot dead Hamburger in the interest of his master.

The supporters also vowed to avenge the death of their benefactor by going after all those that were involved in Hamburger’s death.

When Bounce News  visited the area on Thursday, our correspondent saw a tensed atmosphere. Most shops in the area were still under lock and key. Again, most of the street gates remained closed. Luckily for parents, both public  and private schools in the area are on mid-term break.

Two cars belonging to suspected  supporters of Golden were set ablaze in Shopeju Street on Wednesday.

Hamburger’s supporters had earlier on Monday set ablaze a Nissan Extera belonging to Golden.

There is still heavy security presence in the area.
