Boko Haram : What Commander Wants Troops To Do To End Insurgency
Onslaught against the Boko Haram terrorist group in northeast Nigeria has continued and the Commander of Sector 3 of Operation Lafiya Dole has emphasised on a few things he wants troops to do to end the activities of the insurgents.
Major General Olufemi Akinjobi addressed troops of 7 Brigade Multi National Joint Task Force Baga where were in Kinnasara Cantonment Monguno, Borno State.
He believes that if troops were more committed, focused and proactive in the conduct of their operations in the northeast, it would yield great results as they push to end the over nine years of insurgency.
A statement by the spokesman for Section 3, Ezindu Idimah, said the Commander urged the troops to rout out the remnant of Boko Haram Terrorists hibernating within their Area of Operational Responsibility.
Major General Akinjobi told the troops that the Army Headquarters would continue to provide all necessary logistics to
support their cause.
He further stated that the primary role of the Army was to defend the territorial integrity of its nation.
Above all, he asked troops to embrace team work and doggedness in bringing to an end the activities of the insurgents in the fringes of Lake Chad.
The Commander also stressed that the training and equipment provided for them gave them an edge over the terrorists.
Major General Akinjobi assured the troops that their welfare was the topmost priority of the Chief of Army Staff and therefore urged them to give in return their loyalty and selfless service even at the risk of personal danger.
