The secretariat along Adekunle Fajuyi in Ikeja GRA was shutdown last Thursday following a leadership tussle in the state chapter of the party.

The faction chaired by Segun Adewale popularly known as Aero Land who was loyal to the ousted National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff was hitherto occupying the secretariat.

Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni however handed the secretariat keys to George on Monday following a letter from the National Caretaker Committee which confirmed Moshood Salvador as the State Chairman of the party on one hand and acknowledged the authority of George on the said property.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the closed door meeting with the CP, George said peace is here to stay.

His words: “Let me assure all our people in Lagos that there will be peace in Lagos PDP. I have collected the keys in the presence of Mrs Aduke Maina, who is also a BoT member, which is what is contained in the letter sent from the party secretariat. Now, I will hand over the keys for our people to operate.”

According to George, Salvador was the chairman of the state as endorsed by the party's National Executive Council (NEC) meeting and that the occupation of the secretariat by any other factional executive is illegal.

Adewale could not be reached for comment as he did not return several calls put across to his mobile phone. He did not also reply the text message sent to him.

He had, however, told Bounce News last week that when he emerged at the Chairman of the PDP in the state on May 15 2016, there was no issue of Makarfi or Sheriff factions.
