They had come to the stand in the early hours of Tuesday to read headlines on some national newspapers.

One issue stood out for them - 'BIAFRA'

"The average rich Igbo man does not know that you exist," the man continued, still talking to the Igbo man on a bench.

But the Igbo man, not willing to give in, reminded him that his people work hard and struggle individually for their wealth and never depend on any individual.

"We do not respect big people in Igbo land. Everybody hustles for himself," he insisted.

The struggle for Biafra could be heard in his voice. Some days ago, one of the separatist organisations in the region, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), declared a sit-at-home in the region.
