Organizers of the Zulu African Film Academy Awards, ZAFAA, during the week announced winners of the 2016 edition.

Actress Ini Edo won the Best Actress award for her role in ‘While You Slept’, a movie she produced alongside Emem Isong.

Ini Edo defeated Chika Ike, Omotu Bissong, Linda Ejiofor, Lydia A. Sam-King and Amanda Ebeye to clinch the prize.

This announcement comes two years after they short-listed nominees for the award.

Frederick Leonard won Best Actor for his role in ‘Woeman’ while Daniel K Daniel won Best Supporting Actor.

Other winners at the awards include:

Ivie Okujaye Egboh – Best Supporting Actress

Samuel Anakwa – Best Cinematographer

Moses Iwang – Best Director

Judith Audu – Best Producer (for ‘Just Not Married)

Frankie Ogar – Best Screenplay (for his 2015 action drama – A Soldier’s Story)
