Benue University Postpones Exam Over Students’ Protest
Protest by students on Friday has forced management of the Benue State University to postpone the commencement of examination.
The school management has threatened not to allow students who have not paid their fees to sit for the exam, but the decision did not go down well with the students.
The students queried why the state government will take such decision, when it is owing salaries to their parents who are state civil servants.

Leadership of students’ union barricaded the entrance gate to the institution as early as 6am to protest management’s directive of `no fees, no examination for any student’.
Some of the students, who carried placards with various inscriptions, told NAN that the state-owned institution’s decision is not justifiable.
According to them, the state government’s inaction had left our parents in terrible financial situations.
At the time of this report, no fresh date has been fixed as the school management has not made an official comment on the development.
