Enough is enough! This seems like the words on the lips of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

Governor Ortom has given Fulani herdsmen in Tombo-Mbalagh, Buruku Local Government Area two days to vacate the community.

The governor, who expressed anger at the activities of the herdsmen, gave the order on Monday in Tombo-Mbalagh.

He was in the community to ascertain the damage allegedly done by herdsmen.

Over the weekend, residents in the area claimed their homes were raided by self-acclaimed 'good shepherds'.

8 bodies were recovered, while 3 persons are still missing, according to the sole administrator for the council area, Justina Sorkaa.

Mr. Ortom said he had directed security agencies to lead herdsmen out of the area on expiration of the given ultimatum.

Over the last 12 months, there have been cases of attacks on communities in the state by herdsmen and clashes with farmers that have left people dead. Farmlands have also been ravaged and crops worth thousands of Naira destroyed.
