Bendel Insurance Football Club is desperate to come out of the doldrums and it has the backing of the Edo State Government.

Ahead of the 2018 Football season, state authorities have signed on Monday Odigie as the Manager of the 'rebranded' Bendel Insurance Football Club, with Baldwin Bazuaye coming in as the Chief Coach.

A press statement from Ebomhiama Musa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State Deputy Governor indicated that Greg Ikhenoba will be serving as the Assistant Coach.

The newly appointed Odigie assisted Samson Siasia to the Under 20 FIFA World Cup Football tournament in Holland in 2005.

Odigie was has the following accolades: Silver Medal in Olympic Games Beijing 2008, Bronze Medal in Olympic Games Brazil 2016 which was the only medal Nigeria won in that Competition.

Odigie also assisted Coach John Obuh to win silver medal when Nigeria hosted the Under 17 World Cup Tournament tagged Nigeria ’99.

His last major appointment was Chief Coach of Bayelsa United where he excelled and also named the Best Coach of Year 2007.

On his part, Bazuaye, the new Chief Coach of the Club is an Ex-junior international who played for the Flying Eagles.

His last coaching assignment was with the Katsina United which he handled in the NPFL last season.

The contracts, which are for the 2018 Football Season, take effect from January 2nd 2018.
