The Osun state government house reportedly sent the security alert below:

“Intelligence reports indicate that after the protests embarked upon by a few students of the institution in Osogbo on Wednesday, the criminally minded persons have concluded arrangements to capitalize on that in order to create some confusion with a view to unleashing mayhem on the people.

“Therefore, the government has resolved to ensure that no one is allowed to breach the peace of the state in whatever forms."

How dependable the supposed “intelligence report” is cannot be ascertained but Bounce News reckons there is need for caution nevertheless.

There was a bit of violence on Monday when angry students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo state, prevented JAMB candidates from entering their campus to write their UTME exams.

All the entrances of the school were blocked such that no one could move in or out of the premises. Staff of the institution were also denied entry.

Also on Monday, reports emerged that officers of the Nigerian Navy allegedly clashed with students of UNIOSUN after the officers raided the school's campus in search of 'yahoo boys'.

UNIOSUN's management closed the school for seven days suspending all academic activities until order is restored.
