Politics has been thrown into the Big Brother Naija 2018 mix.

With elections coming up next year and politicians beginning their campaigns, the voting figures recorded by the Big Brother show in it's 85-day run seem to have inspired thoughts of politics.

According to the host of the show, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Big Brother Naija had a total of 170 million votes through out the show, and 30 million votes on the final week.

In the wake of this, former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar took to Twitter to congratulate winner, Miracle while taking a jab at President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku tweeted:

"Congratulations to Miracle, winner of #BBNaija. Miracle is proof that Nigerian youths are hardworking, innovative and creative'.'

He went on to add ''May this victory lead to the miraculous for Nigeria’s youth who have shown that they have what it takes to help take this great nation of ours to the next level. To Nigeria’s youth I say, continue to believe in yourselves''.

Atiku's reference to hard-work and innovation appeared to be a direct hit at a statement credited to President Buhari last week where he suggested that Nigerian youths were lazy.

Governor Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State also joined in the Big Brother Naija fray advising Nigerian youths to get their voters card, and turn out in their millions to vote the way they did during Big Brother Naija.
