Christmas just came very early for Germany's number one goal keeper, Manuel Neuer.

Bundesliga club, Bayern Munich has announced that the goalie will not be available for action for the rest of 2017.

Neuer underwent a second operation on Tuesday after fracturing his left foot again. He is expected to return in January.

"The operation went well and Manuel will be back to his old strength with us again in January," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

The 31-year-old fractured the same left foot in April and only returned at the end of August.
