Bayelsa state Commisioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworis-Markson addressing journalists

There was chaos yesterday at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, Yenegoa when the Bayelsa state Commissioner for Special Projects, Fred Obua slumped inside the hall during the ongoing transparency briefing.

Mr Obua slumped while the Commissioner for Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Frank Saviour Ibegi was giving his presentation.

Mr Obua, who walked into the hall by himself hale and hearty, started experiencing  seizure and eventually slumped from his seat.

He was quickly rushed out of the venue into a waiting vehicle and taken to an undisclosed hospital. During the commotion, news reporters were prevented  from taking photos or recording the event.

The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Marlon had also threatened against reporting on Mr Obua's collapse and state of health.

The ongoing transparency briefing, which is in its second week, has seen a series of inter-ministerial presentations to mark six years of Governor Seriake Dickson in office.
