Bayelsa SSG, Dokubo-Spiff Resigns
David Serena Dokubo Spiff has resigned his appointment as Secretary to State Government of Bayelsa State.
His resignation is to enable him return to his private legal practice.
Governor Seriake Dickson, who announced Spiff’s resignation at end of the State Executive Council meeting, explained that the decision to release him is based on a mutual agreement.
He, however, pointed out that the former SSG will remain a part of the restoration administration, where he will be assigned some special responsibilities.
According to him, such assignments will not minit his private legal practice and responsibilities as the traditional ruler of Ada-Ama, Twon-Brass in the Brass Local Government Area of the state.
Spiff’s resignation comes three weeks after he had earlier denied reports that he was stepping down as SSG.
The former SSG, a close friend to Dickson, was reported to have handed over his resignation letter to the Acting Governor of the state, Real Admiral John Jonah (retd), who rejected it.
