The Chairman of newly promoted Anambra Flames basketball club, Obiorah Emedolibe is confident the team will not disappoint as it opens its premier league account against old war horse, Delta Force of Asaba on Sunday.

The Akwa-based Flames have signed some quality players since gaining promotion at the Ilorin, Kwara state national division-one where it qualified alongside former Nigeria league champion, Ebun Comets.

Emedolibe charged the players and their handlers to storm Asaba with the aim of taking the maximum points at stake.

Team coordinator and former Nigeria international, Ejike Medos says the coming of Anambra Flames is a welcome development to the Southeast part of Nigeria as it becomes the first team from the Southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria to make it to the top rank domestic league.
