Popular musician, Yinka Ayefele rose above his physical challenge to become successful, building the highly popular Fresh FM brand along the way.

His fame spread across the world and so did the news of his philanthropy, perhaps because he understands what it means to be financially challenged too.

Ibrahim Muritala had heard a lot of good things about Yinka Ayefele and how he helps the needy. So, he believed he would find favour with him.

He took the bold step, his story was heard and luckily, he was promised some amount of money by the management of Fresh FM.

But the day he was told to come and collect his token was the day the building was demolished.

He was devastated when he got to the Music House and saw it being pulled down. He wondered who he offended that afflicted him with such bad luck.

“The first time I came here for help, I was told to write formally to the organisation which I did, and I was told to come back afterwards that our names will be mentioned on radio.

“I eventually heard my name and was told to come on the 19th of August and on getting here, the building has been demolished which really saddens my heart, but God will judge whoever did this," he told Bounce News.

How do you face a man who is counting his losses to remind him of his promise to give you money?

Such is the impact of Oyo state government’s demolition of the Music House located around Orita Challenge in Ibadan.

Many lives have been touched by Yinka Ayefele’s philanthropy and this must be why he has enjoyed a lot of sympathy from citizens over his building’s demolition.

It appears the issue has gone beyond who is right or wrong. Residents of Ibadan just want the government to consider the values he adds to the society.

One Mrs Alawode who also spoke to Bounce News described the incident as pathetic.

"This is really pathetic and it’s not as if the building is obstructing the road. This is an envious act, they are supposed to consider him because of his challenge, they just came and destroyed all what he laboured for which is not right. I implore the Government to put a stop to the demolition."
