Their antecedents revealed that they were ex-convicts. They also pleaded guilty to their new charge. So, they had to go back to jail.

The duo of Philip Michael, 20 and Sunday Oluwasola, 23 to spend the next four years in prison for charges of burglary and stealing.‎

An Ado-Ekiti Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, gave the judgment after the prosecutor, Insp Oriyomi Akinwale, gave a convincing detail of how the accused and others still at large, committed the ‎offence on September 24 at Abekoko area, Ado-Ekiti.

Akinwale alleged that the defendants and others at large, broke into the apartment of the complainant, Mr Akinwade Kayode, and stole a plasma television valued N250,000.

The prosecutor also listed other stolen items to include: six wristwatches, valued N60,000; gold jewelries and phone valued N150,000.

According to Akinwale, the offences contravenes Sections 516 and 411 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ekiti State, 2012.

The magistrate, Mrs Modupe Afeniforo, sentenced each of the defendants to four years imprisonment to run concurrently without an option of fine.‎
