'Avengers: Infinity War' has entered the $1billion dollar club.

Ticket sales currently stand at $1.164 billion, which the film reached  in just 11 days, beating the record held  by 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', which took 12 short days to gross $1billion.

It took another groundbreaking film, 'Black Panther', 26 days to reach the $1billion threshold.

This is impressive, as the film has not been released in China, a country which represents a significant proportion of box office income for this type of blockbuster.

It will be released in China on May 11.

'Avengers: Infinity War' is set to surpass other Marvel Cinematic Universe films, including 'Black Panther' (1.34 billion dollars), 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' (1.4 billion dollars) and the very first 'Avengers' (1.52 billion dollars).

'Avengers: Infinity War' could be looking at reaching $2 billion.
