Austria-based Nigerian striker Olarenwaju Kayode is set to miss the Super Eagles friendly game billed for May 26 against Corsica.

Olarenwaju Kayode who has 16 league goals to his name this season is undoubtedly one of Nigeria's most prolific strikers at the moment, but he is almost certain to miss the friendly in France due to club commitments.

The lethal Nigerian forward is expected to lead Austrian Wein’s bid to maintain their second spot in the Austrian Bundesliga behind run-away leaders, Salzburg who they host on May 25, a day before the Corsica friendly and in the final game away at Admira Moedling.

A source in the national team revealed that Olarenwaju was indeed keen to be part of the Corsica game, but he is handicapped as the Corsica friendly game falls out of the usual FIFA window.

Despite his absence, many feel the one-cap striker has shown enough promise to deserve a call up for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against South Africa on June 10 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Olarenwaju made his official debut for the Super Eagles months ago in London during the high profile friendly against the Teranga Lions
