Atiku Will Take Nigeria Out Of Extreme Poverty, Says Jonathan
A former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has congratulated the winner of the presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
He won with 1,532 votes and the issue about who will vie against the endorsed candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari has now been laid to rest.
In a congratulatory message after the election held in Port Harcourt Stadium, Jonathan expressed confidence that Abubakar was the party's best candidate.
"I congratulate His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, Waziri Adamawa, and by the grace of God and the votes of Nigerians, the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
"I believe you are the best candidate," he wrote on his Facebook page.
A recent ranking showed that Nigeria overtook India as the nation with the largest number of people living in extreme poverty, below $1.90 per day and the former President also touched this in his post.
