The National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Governor Ayodele Fayose and other party’s stalwarts on Saturday stormed Osogbo for PDP South West Mega rally.

Thousands of party members from six  states in south west zone graced the rally held at Freedom Park, Osogbo.

Bounce News correspondent reports that aspirants for forthcoming governorship election in Osun State mobilized supporters to the event to show their strength and popularity.

Secondus charged members in south west zone to be united ahead of 2019 general elections, adding it is necessary for the party forthcoming governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun States.

Secondus commended Osun State PDP Chairman, Hon. Soji Adagunodo and other executives for organising the impressive outing.

Advising APC to be ready to leave the mantle of power, Secondus said “ahead of the elections, we will not succumb to any form of intimidation because we are on a mission to rescue the nation.

The former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, appealed to the leadership and members of the party to unite so as to be able to succeed in the task ahead.

Shouts of “Atiku! Atiku!” filled the air, when he reminded South West people how in 2003, he worked tirelessly to take the region back from the then Alliance for Democracy (AD). He promised to do it again in 2019, if he emerges presidential candidate of the PDP.

He vowed that the party would not leave any stone unturned at ensuring that it rescue power from the APC come 2019.

Also, former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, asked party members to close rank and be prepared to send APC home.

In his is usual characteristic manner, Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose, erupted in a Yoruba song of victory: “Buhari a lo! Buhari a lo! Osinbajo a tele!” meaning, ‘Buhari will go and Osinbajo will follow him’.
