Joy Udo-Gabriel has won her first medal at the African Senior Athletics Championship.

Joy won bronze in the 100m women’s final, making it Nigeria’s second medal after Tobi Amusan won gold in the 100m women’s hurdles.

Joy came behind her major threat, Ivory Coast’s Marie-Josée Ta Lou who won the women’s 100m, and Janet Amponsah of Ghana, who finished second.

Ta Lou came first with a time of 11.15 second, while Janet and Joy finished at 11.54 seconds and 11.58 seconds respectively.
