Asaba 2018: Blessing Okagbare Is Not Threatened
Nigerian sprinter Blessing Okagbare knows that a lot is being expected from her at the 21st Senior Africa Athletics Championship.
And so, she is jeering up for her events without fear for any foe.
Okagbare will be competing against known foes like Ivorian duo of Marie-Josée Ta Lou and Murielle Ahouré among others, in the 100m.
During her warm-up session at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Monday, Okagbare said she was not threatened by competitors from other countries, as she counts on home fans to cheer her to victory.
“I am not threatened by anybody, but I will see what I can do, as I leave everything to God.
“I am looking forward to the championship.
“This is home for me and it presents an opportunity for my fans to cheer me.
Okagbare will be stepping out on the tracks on Wednesday when the women’s 100m race gets underway.
The Nigerian queen was the African 100m and long jump champion in 2010, but her 100m was eclipsed by Murielle Ahouré in 2016.
