The internet had been thrown into a frenzy after Noble Igwe shared tweets on Friday condemning the acts of internet fraudsters.

Several businesses in Lekki and Ikoyi, he said, are fronts for money laundering.

He listed music labels, car dealers, estate development companies and stores, being channels and fronts for scammers.

While some Nigerians have commended him for speaking out against fraud, others have held on to their whips of criticism.

Noble Igwe has clarified that his tweets were not directed at a particular person, but a call to everyone to see how our society can be made to work better.

"NOT ALL Record labels, shops on Fola Osibo /Admiralty way is a front for fraud as there are people in these businesses that are legit.

"I didn’t not SAY All and I do know there are a lot of people who really love entertainment and have invested in it."

"We need to live an exemplary live for our younger ones. We can wear Zara and wear it with pride;

"We can drink beer and not be looked down on, we can celebrate and not make it look like we have to pop bottles to prove a point," he added.

Meanwhile, music promoter, Alex Ozone, who has organized world tours for Tekno, Olamide, Patoranking and Reekado Banks disagrees with Igwe.

"Show business is a make-belief hustle. The lavish lifestyle is part of it. The truth is the whole system is corrupt.

"If you are successful, you would be seen as a fraudster. That is the system we operate. You cannot tell the difference between who is legit or not, so how does Noble Igwe know?" he asked Bounce News.

"Look at me, for example, because I take music artistes on tour to Europe and other parts of the world, I have been accused of carrying drugs and doing money laundering.

"I do not do any of these things, I work hard," he said.

"Even when people do legitimate businesses online like FOREX, and are successful, they are termed as Yahoo boys. It is that bad".
