Arsenal's Iwobi Still Gets Advice From Thierry Henry
Super Eagles striker Alex Iwobi has revealed that he still receives words of encouragement from Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
Henry, who played for Arsenal from 1999 to 2007, making 254 appearances and scoring 174 goals, has since moved to Belgium as one of the assistant coaches to Roberto Martinez.
Iwobi, who has rejuvenated his career at the Gunners this season, disclosed that his all-time favourite Arsenal player is no other than Henry.
“The goals he got, the player he was – and he still advises me today, so definitely Henry.”
After coming as a second half substitute, Iwobi scored Nigeria’s lone goal in a 1-0 win over Zambia in Uyo to book a 2018 FIFA World Cup ticket.
