Football legend, Kanu Nwankwo is being celebrated across the world today (August 1st) as he turns 41.

Leading the line of those celebrating Papilo is his former London club, Arsenal who on their social media outlets wished the former Super Eagles a happy birthday and also shared memories of his exploits from Highbury to The Emirates.

Kanu had 198 appearances for the Gunners in a largely eventful spell in which he notched in 44 goals.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation is also in the forefront of wishing Kanu happy birthday as the striker served Nigeria right from the U-17 where he won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 1993 in Japan to the Atlanta 1996 Gold medal and several bronze medals at AFCON.

The NFF were also active on twitter. 

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, CNN among other world bodies all spared a thought for Kanu on Wednesday.
