Argentina have announced their squad for next month's friendly games against Russia and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Though eight big stars have been left off the list, the attacking duo of Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero are both in the mix to face the three-time African champions.

Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain has once again been left out of the squad, after his struggles in Serie A this season. 

Jorge Sampoali's charges will face Russia on 10 November, while they have a date with the Super Eagles four days later.

Argentina squad (Home-based players not included yet):

Goalkeepers: Romero, Guzman, Marchesin.

Defenders: Marchesin, Fazio, Mercado, Otamendi, Pezzella; Salvio.

Midfielders: Biglia, Banega, Acuna, Paredes, Emiliano Rigoni, Kranevitter, Papu, Perotti.

Forwards: Messi, Aguero, Icardi, Di Maria, Dybala
