Aregbesola Plotting To Make Son Chief Of Staff To New Osun Governor
The immediate past governor of Osun state, Rauf Aregbesola has begun a discreet move to make his son a major beneficiary in the composition of the cabinet of the newly sworn-in governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
According to a grounded source, the former governor is pushing to make his son Kabiru a cabinet member in the administration of his successor.
Aregbesola is said to have penciled down his son’s name for the position of Chief of Staff to the new state helmsman, the source maintained.
And he’s seriously working towards making it a reality an insider further insists.
Governor Oyetola, who is the half-brother of national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu served in the government of Aregbesola as Chief of Staff for eight years.
Kabiru was a key player in the same government throughout the reign of his father in the state.
Kabiru is he brain behind the infamous Tablet Of Learning (Opon Imo) distributed to secondary school students in the state.
The project was largely criticised across the state.
“It’s not a thing they just thought of overnight… The plan to ensure Kabiru serve in the cabinet of the new governor has always been his father’s plan. And a few numbers of Aregbesola associates are aware”, a source who is familiar with the development said.
To ensure party faithful wouldn't raise voices against his choice, findings revealed Kabiru was incorporated into the campaign team in the build-up to the gubernatorial election in the state, another source said.
Kabiru served in the security and mobilisation committee during the last gubernatorial campaign.
Insiders confirm the plot to make Kabiru the Chief of Staff to the new governor of Osun state is now being packaged as a payback for his works during the campaign and electioneering periods.
