APC Suspends Vice Chairman In Katsina
The Katsina State chapter of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC), has suspended its vice chairman for Katsina Central zone, Mamman Yaro Batsari.
He was suspended over alleged anti-party activities.
A meeting of the state exco has since ratified his suspension, and a five-man committee to investigate all the allegations leveled against him has been set up.
The committee had Barrister Yarima Danja as chairman and was given two weeks within which to conclude its assignment and report back to the State Working Committee (SEC) of the party.
Other members in the committee included Barrister Auwal Adam Bindawa, Barrister Muktar Daura, Barrister Jamilu Ayuba with Lawal Adamu as secretary.
When contacted, the embattled Batsari said this was not the right time for him to comment, adding that the committee had not yet reached out to him.
“What the party did was erroneous; how can they set up a committee and further go ahead to suspend me without waiting for the committee to carry out its assigned duty?” he queried.
“As far as I’m concerned, I don’t know what I am being accused of; I was not told I did anything,” he said.
