The first news we heard was that Senator Hope Uzodinma has defeated Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu to win the All Progressives Congress governorship ticket in Imo state.

Uzodinma recorded 423,895 votes to pick the party’s ticket while Nwosu came seventh with just 10, 329 votes in the election conducted on Tuesday.

But there is a twist.

The National Working Committee of the APC has suspended the Imo State governorship primaries indefinitely with no reason given for the action.

According to the statement signed by the party’s acting National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena, APC has also postponed the Party’s Senate Primaries in the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to Wednesday, October 3, 2018.

The controversies that trailed the so-called victory by Hope Uzodinma, which saw Governor Okorocha condemning the exercise must have forced the party to intervene.
