The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has tendered his resignation to the party leadership.

He has equally dumped the party for the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Abdullahi is a loyalist of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

He had earlier denied leaving the party after Saraki announced his defection to the PDP on Tuesday.

Abdullahi, in a statement he issued in Abuja on Wednesday, said that this resolve was prompted by series of unpleasant developments unfolding in the ruling party

He further said that more than once his loyalty to the party has been questioned, adding that his views have also been opposed on different occasions.

He added that he has suffered insubordination from some of deputies.

“I have served the APC honestly and to the best of my ability and when I stood for and won my election at the last convention; it was a keen desire to continue to do so,” Abdullahi said.

“However, in a situation whereby my loyalty is constantly brought into question; my subordinates deployed to subvert my office; and my views constantly second-guessed on the basis of my political affiliation, it has become imperative for me to review my position.”

He said the dissolution of the Kwara state executives which he described as illegal was only one out of the many assault he had to suffer.

Abdullahi said he believed as a national officer of the party, who sits in that Committee, courtesy should demand that his views be sought on a matter that concerns his state where he is directly involved.
