Some members of the John Odigie-Oyegun-led National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have started moving out of the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The members are moving out their personal belongings from their offices.

The clearing of the offices follows the decision of the party's leadership to conduct fresh congresses to elect new leaders for the party at all levels.

It was gathered that the haste to evacuate their personal effects was to avoid embarrassment.

The personal assistants to some of the NWC members were seen moving their personal belongings like portraits, documents, among others, into their principals’ cars on Thursday.

At a meeting on Wednesday, the governors of the party had appealed to party officials to abide by the President Muhammadu Buhari’s advice and allow new elections, even as a technical committee set up to guide the party out of its current logjam was yet to submit its report.

Confirming the development, a staff at party's secretariat who spoke in confidence stated that the haste to evacuate their personal effects was to avoid the embarrassment of the possibility of setting up a convention committee during the emergency NEC meeting on Monday.
