After a series of postponements, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally scheduled a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

The meeting holds on Thursday, October 19th at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

There had been a lot of pressure on the National Chairman of the party, John Oyegun to fix a date for the meeting.

Thursday’s meeting is seen as a face-saving effort by Oyegun and leadership of the party which has been accused of failure to convene statutory meetings as stipulated in the APC’s constitution.

Letters have already been dispatched to all the NEC members.

In the letter signed by Oyegun, and National Secretary, Malam Mai-Mala Buni, the party said it was holding its NEC meeting on Thursday.

Some of the issues that would form the agenda for the meeting include, the consideration of results of state congresses, financial report, as well as date for convention.

Also to be tabled during the NEC meeting is proposed amendments in the party’s constitution.
