Their reasons may be different but all the opposition political parties in Oyo state seem to agree that the people are not happy with the present APC administration and they should be evicted.

How they intend to achieve this is what remains to be seen. But one man who believes he has his strategy well designed is the PDP governorship candidate, Mr Seyi Makinde.

Just like his APC opponent, Makinde and the PDP flagged off their campaign on Friday, December 14. The event held at the prestigious Premier Hotel in Ibadan, the state capital.

He reiterated his belief that the present administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed the people and this calls for a new and better person to become governor in 2019.

"People are not happy with the present administration under the APC government, people are hungry and you can see that on their faces.

"People need an alternative party that can give them good governance, and we (PDP) are the party to give them all the good dividends of democracy, and that is the reason why I am presenting myself to the good people of Oyo state to serve them better," he said.

Ready To Serve

With the needs of the people enumerated and their supposed challenges identified, it was time for Mr Makinde to appeal for votes.

He declared that he was ‘more than ready’ to serve his people and appealed to the people of Oyo state to cast their votes in his favour.

"I am ready to serve the people of Oyo State with passion and I am using this medium to appeal to you out there that you should cast your vote for me.

"I am ready to serve you better with my running mate, Engineer Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan who hails from Oke Ogun part of the state."

One of the most prominent PDP leaders in Oyo state is Mrs. Jumoke Akinjide and she was present at the campaign.

She urged everyone to work hand in hand with the party so as to get the mandate come 2019 in Oyo state.

"I urge you to go to your local government areas to resolve with aggrieved members so that we all can work together as a team for the party's success ahead of the coming elections," she concluded.
