Ndoma-Egba said of the 42 positions being contested, one of the aspirants on Wednesday dropped off, leaving the race to 41.

There are indications that during the meeting, some aspirants would be told to drop their ambitions since their names were not in the Unity List already prepared by party leaders.

Unity List, believed to contain the names of preferred candidates of the leaders of the APC, is akin to the one used by the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its convention last December.
