Should Anthony Joshua get invited to Aso Rock after becoming the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion? A lawmaker believes so.

Senator Ben Murray Bruce in a series of tweets has urged the presidency to invite the 27-year- old to Aso Rock with the aim of making him an ambassador for the country.

He said this after the Ogun state native knocked out Wladimir Klitschko in the 11th round of an epic heavyweight world title fight at Wembley on Saturday night.

"Today I have pure joy over Anthony Oluwafemi Olaseni Joshua’s victory over Wladimir Klitschko to become the world’s heavy weight champion!" the lawmaker said.

"Its commonsense that Nigerians are winners and Anthony proves it. The world has to know that good things, better things, come from Nigeria!" he tweeted

"The best thing to do for our image is to invite Anthony Joshua to Aso Rock for a hero's welcome and make him a brand ambassador for Nigeria!" he added.

Anthony Joshua is currently a unified world heavyweight champion, having held the IBF title since 2016, and the WBA (Super) and IBO titles since April 2017.
