Another Coach Faces Sack In Nigerian League
Sack threats are in the air again in the Nigeria Professional Football League as the management of Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Ilorin FC, have given their coach, Henry Makinwa, a 3-match ultimatum to win or face the exit door.
The ultimatum was contained in a statement issued in Ilorin on Sunday and signed by the team's Director of Football, Alloy Chukwuemeka.
He explains the decision was taken after a meeting to review the 2-4 loss to Sunshine Stars on Sunday in Ilorin, which he described as unacceptable.
It has been a rough patch for the Saraki Boys in recent times as they have failed to win their last four matches home and away.
ABS FC suffered a 0-2 loss to 3SC in Ibadan, forced out a 1-1 draw with Kano Pillars in Ilorin then recorded another 1-2 loss to MFM FC in Lagos before Sunday’s 2-4 defeat to Sunshine Stars.
Just above the drop zone, the team's management has called on the technical crew to take charge of the situation ahead of their next game against visiting the Rivers United.
Kadiri Ikahana, Imama Amapakabo, Baba Ganaru and Kayode Olujohungbe are some of the coaches that have been given the boot in the ongoing season.
