The lawmaker representing Alimosho Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Bisi Yusuf narrowly escaped mob action at a political event organized by the Alimosho Local Government chapter of the APC on Saturday.

It took the combined teams of security personnel and supporters to rescue him and other notable politicians, including the Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation, Uzamat Yussuf as they came under attack from protesters.

Other chieftains of the party including Femi Adebanjo, the member representing Alimosho federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives and Adebisi Doris Adebajo, Chairman of Mosan Okunola Local Council Development Area (LCDA) were smuggled out of the venue.

Pure water, plastic bottles, stones and shoes were used in attacking the dignitaries.

The event, which took place at African Church Primary School in Mosan Okunola, was the monthly meeting of the party in the local government. Bounce News gathered that some vehicles belonging to politicians were smashed by the irate youths while security personnel had to fire into the air to disperse the crowd and free the dignitaries.

Trouble started when Yusuf, a two- term lawmaker came into the meeting with his motley crowd of supporters declaring his third term agenda.

His entrance into the venue irked some youths, who started shouting ‘We don’t want Yusuf again.

The aggrieved members insisted that the era of imposition, godfatherism and taking dictates from Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State is over in Alimosho.

Rauf Aregbesola

Alimosho was Aregbesola’s political base before he became the governor of Osun State. He was Commissioner for Works in Bola Tinubu’s 8 years two-term administration and holds sway as the main leader in the area with his Mandate Group.

Enilolobo was also ferried out of the venue by policemen.
