The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for the disqualification of Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State in Saturday's governorship election in the state.

The party accused the governor of campaigning openly at his polling unit on election day.

The PDP stressed that the action of the governor contravenes of electoral law.

All  forms of campaigns according to the electoral law ends a day before the election.

The PDP on its Twitter page said the governor openly canvassed for votes after casting his vote.

Obaino, who is the candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) after voting said he was confident of winning the governorship election by a landslide.

The governor, who voted at Eri Primary School, Otuocha. also expressed his happiness with the turnout of voters at the ward.

"I’m happy with the turnout and I’m sure I will win by a landslide,” Obiano said.
