Less than 48 hours to the much-anticipated Anambra state governorship election, all hotels within Awka the Anambra state capital have been fully booked.

If you are still planning a trip to the town with the intention to lodge in a hotel, please be aware that there are no rooms available until November 20.

Bounce News is live in Awka for our coverage of the election and we can confirm this to you.

Most of the rooms have been booked by supporters and leaders of various political parties and it is expected that campaign teams will operate from within their premises.

Best Western Hotel has been occupied by APC and its leading candidate Tony Nwoye, while De Santos is occupied by the PDP and it's candidate Oseloka Obaze.

Even the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano has locked down Jesse Hotel for his supporters.

Various meetings are ongoing within the hotels as party leaders strategize ahead of Friday's sit at home.

UPP members and their smooth-talking candidate, Osita Chidoka are lodged at Renegold Hotels.

Owners of hotels and guest houses must be loving this sales surge and wishing elections could hold every year.

They have jacked up prices and basic rooms that used to cost 5,000 naira now cost at least 10,000.

Perhaps Christmas has come early for players in the hospitality business.
