Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubuon Wednesday held a closed door meeting at the Presidential Villa.

The meeting is coming three days before the November 18 governorship election in Anambra State.

Although no official reason was given on why the INEC boss visited Osinbajo, it was gathered that the meeting is not unconnected with Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

It was learnt that the Federal Government wants to be assured on the level of preparedness of the electoral umpire and needed to get an update on the forthcoming election.

The meeting which lasted over an hour, ended without the INEC boss taking questions from State House correspondents.

He refused to meet with journalists as he waited for the area to be cleared of journalists before finding his way out of the Vice President’s office.

Yakubu was accompanied to the meeting by some officials for the electoral body.
