Unconfirmed reports reaching Bounce News say there appears to be hard and shrewd bargaining ongoing between two political parties participating in the Anambra elections.

The parties are the People’s Democratic Party, PDP and United Progressives Party, UPP.

The reports say the horse trading between the two parties may see two of them joining forces to increase their votes and chances of victory.

Bounce News editor, Ehizojie Okharedia who is on ground in Awka reports that the unfolding political scenario indicates that the election may be unofficially reduced to a 3-horse race, involving candidates Willie Obiano of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Tony Nwoye of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Oseloka Obaze of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Sources from the grapevine say the horse trading between UPP candidate, Osita Chidoka and PDP candidate Oseloka Obaze promises a ministerial position for Chidoka if Obaze emerges the winner of the election, while Chidoka awaits his turn to become governor after Obaze.

In the meantime, reports coming in suggest that Obiano may have also convinced 10 of the 37 candidates participating in the election to support him.

An observer, Akinwale Sunday says he believes the zoning formula might work in favour of Chidoka since Obiano, Obaze and Nwoye are all from Anambra North.

He suggests that since Chidoka is the only candidate from the South, he might get more sentimental votes while the first three share the remaining votes.

Party agents of these parties have refused to comment on these reports saying, "you will hear from us at the right time".

Meanwhile, all the PDP bigwigs are all on ground to witness the elections, including former President Goodluck Jonathan and other leaders of the party, who are reported to be staying at a hotel in Onitsha.
